The box itself is made from fine grade beechwood with a mahogany finish, and 25 karats gold plating on all metallic fixtures. The clock is encased in a solid brass, gold plated housing with a 5 mm thick crystal glass bezel which is beveled on its circumference. The clock has a 12-hour Roman numeral dial with sweep second hand. Guaranteed accuracy is less than 1 second per day error.
